We continue to be impressed by your practice, by the warmth and professionalism displayed by your entire staff.

Dr. Garlie,

Champion Spirithill Reimei of Cumbrescoons was 4 1/2 years old when we got her in 2014.  She is the perfect example of a goofy, intelligent, passionately devoted Maine Coon cat.

One night in November 2016 she had what sounded like an asthma attack, beginning a 2-year search for answers (for us) and relief (for Reimei).  That search took us to three veterinarians in three states.  No one could tell us what was wrong.

In July 2018 we brought Reimei to see you.  Within days we had a diagnosis, a treatment plan, and the exuberant return of the sweet, playful pet we adored.

We continue to be impressed by your practice, by the warmth and professionalism displayed by your entire staff.  So a simple “thank you” doesn’t work.  It’s not enough.  Just know that our gratitude is boundless and you will be in our lives for as long as we have pets.  That means you’re stuck with us forever!

Everyone is friendly and genuinely cares.

We have never had anything but good experiences with Rivertown, and we’ve been bringing our beloved dog here for almost six years, and not just for routine check ups. He is 11 now and is healthy and fit as he can be thanks in part to the great care he has received from Dr. Garlie and her wonderful staff. Everyone is friendly and genuinely cares. For a while there, I thought they liked my dog best because of how nice they were to him, but then I saw them treating other dogs and cats the same way, so I guess they think everyone is the best.

Ranger PieperWeight control, dental care, and routine blood work for seniors to stay ahead of any health issues are just some of the things that are emphasized to keep pets healthy and happy. They also provide excellent care if your pet requires surgery. On the subject of surgery, just a couple important things to consider. Pain control is a primary concern with all procedures performed at Rivertown, and they do an excellent job of making sure their patients are well medicated before, during and after surgery. The surgery suite, just like the entire clinic, is beautiful, state-of-the-art, and immaculately clean. And they also keep your sweet pet warm during surgery and recovery – comfort is important to them. Our dog has had multiple surgeries at Rivertown including two separate mass removals, an orthopedic procedure for a knee problem, and a tooth extraction that was performed same day due to the severity of the fracture. He’s had more than his fair share of physical issues, but we’ve always trusted the entire staff at Rivertown and they’ve never let us down.

We wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. To Dr. Garlie and everyone else who treats Ranger like he’s your own dog: we can’t tell you how much we appreciate the care our sweet old guy receives every time we walk through your doors. He doesn’t always love what you have to do to him but he loves you all. Thank you!

Dr. Garlie thoroughly explained to me the findings and treatment options with the ideal combination of compassion and professionalism.

I discovered Rivertown Animal Hospital when my cat needed an ultrasound, and soon!  I called the clinic and they fit me in first thing the next morning. We got up bright and early, and I tucked Beaker, my 17 year old kitty, into his carrier. With my fingers crossed, I made the drive from Minneapolis, hoping that the ultrasound would determine what was making him feel so bad. As soon as I stepped into the clinic I started to feel at ease. Dr. Garlie and company greeted us warmly and briefed me on the procedure. Afterward Dr. Garlie thoroughly explained to me the findings and treatment options with the ideal combination of compassion and professionalism. My Beaks had cancer, my sweet kitty that my mom gave me on my 12th birthday. With the continuous loving care of everyone at Rivertown he made it beyond 18, and celebrated my 30th with me. He passed away in December 2010. Now, I happily drive to Stillwater from Minneapolis because I know my three cats are getting truly outstanding care.

You’ve handled our countless questions and concerns with kindness and compassion.

We couldn’t be happier with the care that our pets have received at Rivertown Animal Hospital. You and your staff have treated our dogs as you would your own, and you’ve handled our countless questions and concerns with kindness and compassion. We’re grateful for your recommendations relative to pet insurance, as this has saved us thousands of dollars for hip surgeries required to treat our puppy. We are incredibly fortunate to have found such a knowledgeable and skilled group of veterinary practitioners!

None compare with the professional service and outstanding staff at Rivertown Animal Hospital.

I have had many dogs over the years and have used many different veterinary clinics. None compare with the professional service and outstanding staff at Rivertown Animal Hospital. Rivertown has performed teeth cleaning, extractions and surgeries for my dogs Butler and Bosco. Her acupuncture techniques have helped Butler get back on his feet after paralysis in the hind quarters. Rivertown is an absolutely wonderful place if you are in need of care for your pet.

The staff there is top-notch without question.

Dick and I have been clients of Rivertown Animal Hospital for years. The staff there is top-notch without question. What really separates them from the pack in my opinion is their respect and acknowledgement of the healing power of the human/animal bond. It is so much easier to know and trust that the care of my dogs is in the hands of someone who allows them to have the comfort of what is familiar in the context of what can be so stressful.

I find that Rivertown Animal Hospital veterinarians and staff are providing the best practices in veterinary care.

Cyndy Silkworth

Rivertown Animal Hospital has helped me take care of my Labrador retrievers, my son’s bulldog and two foster dogs over the past 10 years. They have helped me with preventive measures to help keep my dogs healthy, as well as helping me manage dogs with heart disease, kidney disease, arthritis, ligament tears, cancer, paw lacerations, bowel obstruction due to eating a toy, lung and urinary tract infections, tick-borne diseases and food allergies.

I am very impressed with the way the veterinarians have explained each health condition and the best course of treatment to me, so I could understand the problem and make good choices for care. At home, whenever I do online searches of the conditions and recommended treatments, I find that Rivertown Animal Hospital veterinarians and staff are providing the best practices in veterinary care. It is very reassuring to me and my family.

We spend a lot of time at our cabin in northern Wisconsin, and even from a long distance, they have helped me with managing my dogs’ illnesses and injuries. When we needed to see a vet up there for an urgent health problem, Rivertown Animal Hospital worked with the vet to provide continuity of care after we got home. Up at the cabin it has been extremely helpful to have the animal first aid kit that Rivertown Animal Hospital veterinarians designed.

Their commitment and caring for animals and their families is extraordinary. One of my dogs got seriously ill, very quickly, on a Saturday night, and was transferred by the Animal Emergency Hospital to the intensive care unit at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital. I was absolutely stunned to see my vet from Rivertown Animal Hospital in the intensive care unit consulting with the intensive care staff on Sunday morning. She had found out he was there and came over to help with his care. She spent several hours with me and helped me make decisions on what to do next. With her help, I was able to get him home and keep him comfortable until he died two months later. His last two months were filled with peace and comfort, surrounded by his family. I don’t know how I can ever repay her for the caring and support she gave to both my dog and me.

I have recommended Rivertown Animal Hospital to many neighbors and friends, who are now using Rivertown Animal Hospital for their pets’ veterinary care.
